The impermeability of a fabric, ensured by a coating or a membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H20 (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. This jacket is designed with a coated waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard): this component resists 5000 mm H20 (Schmerber) before washing (i.e. the pressure exerted by 5 meters of column of water).

The fabric of our product is very breathable - 12 RETThe breathability of a component is measured by its “Thermal Evaporative Resistance”. It is its ability to release the water vapor produced by the body during exercise to the outside. For long-lasting water repellency of the fabric, we advise you to reactivate it regularly. You can do this every 3 washes (abundant rinsing is essential), or after ten uses in the rain. You can easily reactivate the water repellency, hot: - with your dryer for 15 minutes (synthetic program), - with a hair dryer 20 cm away, making 2 backs and forths, - or 2 passes with the iron, set to delicate without function vape

During a sports effort, we sweat more or less depending on the intensity or the length of the effort. If the breathability of the fabric is not adapted to the effort, the vapor of perspiration condenses inside the jacket. We are wet inside: it is not the rain which pierces, but the vapor of perspiration which condenses. You have to choose your rain jacket according to your type of effort. This rain jacket is designed for a two-hour hike at a maximum pace of 5 km/h.
