Choose your waterproof jacket according to your sporting effort
This rain jacket is designed for a 2-hour hike at a maximum pace of 5 km/h, without elevation gain. During physical exertion, we sweat more or less depending on the intensity or length of the effort. If the breathability of the fabric is not adapted to the effort, the perspiration vapor condenses inside the jacket. We are wet inside: it is not the rain that penetrates, but the perspiration vapor that condenses. You must choose your rain jacket according to your type of exercise.
Waterproofing of the component of this jacket
The waterproofness of a fabric, provided by a coating or a membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H20 (pressure exerted by a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. This jacket is designed with a coated waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard): this component resists 5000 mm H20 (Schmerber) before washing (i.e. the pressure exerted by a 5 meter water column).

Recommended complementary products
We recommend the Raincut waterproof overpants to also protect your lower body. This will give you a complete set of highly effective protection against wind and rain. And best of all, the overpants also benefit from an eco-design approach, with the mass-dyeing process.
Fabric breathability
The fabric of this jacket is breathable: RET=12. The breathability of a component is measured by its “Thermal Evaporative Resistance” (RET). This is its ability to allow water vapor produced by the body during exercise to escape to the outside and thus prevent water from accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric RET ≤ 20: not very breathable fabric

Performance resistance of your jacket
To ensure the fabric's water repellency, we recommend reactivating it regularly. You can do this every 3 washes (thorough rinsing is essential), or after about ten uses in the rain. You can easily reactivate the water repellency using a hot cycle: - with your tumble dryer for 15 minutes (synthetic cycle), - with a hair dryer 20 cm away, making 2 back-and-forth movements, - or 2 passes with the iron, set to delicate without steam function.

Product Comments

Nothing to say, good value for money
The rain windbreaker is good overall but waterproof levels it absorbs water quickly and the condensation remains which is why I have to put a poncho (rain cape) on top to prevent the water from condensing. very practical in any case for cycling
Protects well from wind and rain.
