Technical specification: High-performance waterproof coating, 5000 mm H2O (Schmerber), certified to JIS 1092. Hydrostatic resistance equivalent to a 5-meter water column before washing. Performance maintained in repeated cycles; waterproofing guaranteed in light rain.
6 pockets for optimized organization: - 2 hand pockets on the sides - 2 gusseted pockets with flap and velcro - 1 waterproof chest pocket, quick access, to the phone - 1 secure zipped inner pocket.
The lining utilizes a multi-material technical construction. The mesh back panel maximizes ventilation, while the nylon at the hips optimizes abrasion resistance and freedom of movement. The hood incorporates a peach-skin microfiber for a premium feel.
Optimized breathability with a RET of 12 places this fabric in the "very breathable" category on the technical scale. For reference, a RET below 9 indicates an extreme level of breathability, while above 20, breathability becomes insufficient for sustained effort.
Maintaining water repellency follows a specific protocol. Reactivate the treatment every three washes with an intensive rinse, or after approximately ten exposures to rain. Thermal reactivation is easily achieved by tumble drying for 15 minutes or using a hairdryer held 20 cm away.
During physical activity, you sweat more or less depending on the intensity and duration of the effort. If the fabric's breathability isn't suitable for the activity, the perspiration will condense inside the jacket. You'll feel damp inside: it's not rain that's seeping through, but condensed perspiration. You should choose your jacket according to the type of activity you'll be doing. This parka is designed for regular day hikes at a maximum pace of 5 km/h.
