Choose your waterproof jacket according to your sporting effort
This jacket is designed for day hikes at a pace of 5 km/h, without elevation gain. During physical exertion, we sweat more or less depending on the intensity or length of the effort. If the breathability of the fabric is not adapted to the effort, the perspiration vapor condenses inside the jacket. We are wet inside: it is not the rain that penetrates, but the perspiration vapor that condenses. You must choose your waterproof jacket according to your type of exercise.

Fabric breathability
The fabric of this jacket is breathable: RET=12. To determine whether a fabric is breathable, its Thermal Evaporative Resistance (RET) coefficient is measured in a test based on ISO 11092. The lower the resistance, the more the fabric allows water vapor generated by the body during activity to escape and is breathable. - RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric - 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric - 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric - RET > 20 = not very breathable fabric
Performance resistance of your jacket
To ensure the fabric's water repellency, we recommend reactivating it regularly. You can do this every three washes (thorough rinsing is essential), or after about ten uses in the rain. You can easily reactivate the water repellency using a hot cycle: - with your tumble dryer for 15 minutes (synthetic cycle) - with a hair dryer 20 cm away, making two back and forth movements - or two passes with the iron, set to delicate without steam function.
