      Product information

This men's sailing jacket is designed for coastal sailing in wet, cool and windy weather.

      Component breathability

To determine whether a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance (RET) is measured (ISO 11092 standard). The lower the resistance, the more water vapor the fabric allows to escape and therefore the more breathable the fabric is. We consider that if: RET < 9 = very breathable fabric 9 < RET < 12 = breathable fabric. The RET of this jacket is 12.

      Sleeve ends

The sleeve end is adjustable with a Velcro fastener. This allows you to adjust the sleeve to the length of your arm, but also to limit the entry of air and water. To remove the jacket more easily, open the Velcro fastener.

      How to wash your jacket?

You can wash your jacket on a synthetic cycle at 30° or 40°C with your usual detergent. Do not use fabric softener, which could damage the garment's original performance, nor, of course, bleach. Also, be careful not to fold your jacket too much when placing it in the washing machine and to limit the load on your machine. Very important: select a thorough rinse or perform a double rinse to completely remove detergent residue.

      Pockets

2 pockets on the front of the jacket, to store VHF, raban, hat... Injected plastic zipper to prevent salt oxidation 1 exterior pocket on the left chest to slip your phone or other items into, closed by a zip 1 interior pocket on the right chest closed by Velcro The pockets are not waterproof!

How to reactivate the water repellency of your jacket?

Drying is a crucial step to reactivate the water-repellent treatment. We recommend letting your jacket air dry completely, laying flat on a clothes horse. Be careful never to dry your jacket directly on a radiator. Then tumble dry it on a synthetic cycle for a short time, i.e., 10 to 15 minutes, before turning it right side out. Be careful not to overdry the garment.

      Collar and hood

The hood is stored in the collar. The collar is then closed with plastic snaps to prevent oxidation caused by salt. The hood is adjustable in height and depth: adjustment at the back of the hood and at the neckline. The collar reaches up to the chin and effectively protects the lower part of the face. Collar height (back): 9 cm.

      Uniqueness of the jacket

Compared to our 100 jacket, the 500 jacket: - has a more waterproof (15.000 Schmerbers) and more stretchy component - a Velcro wrist tightening - an interior flap with a gutter - a hood that can be stored in the collar and adjusted in depth - an additional exterior chest pocket

      Water repellency information

The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to allow water to slide off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents your jacket from becoming waterlogged and keeps it light and breathable. Water repellency is achieved through a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric, but these properties may be impaired over time.

What is the level of waterproofing?

A fabric's resistance to water pressure is measured in millimeters of water column (JIS standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This component is resistant to a water pressure of 15.000 Schmerbers (JIS standard). The jacket's waterproofness was tested under a rainfall of 60 liters of water/m²/hour for 2 hours.

      Front zipper

Use of a full-length zip protected by an inner flap with a gutter for better waterproofing. Soft fabric flap at the top of the collar to limit irritation to the chin. Injected plastic zipper to prevent salt oxidation
