      Product information

Set off with peace of mind, this men's waterproof jacket withstands prolonged rain in the mountains, ideal for your hikes in unstable weather.

      Is the fabric waterproof?

Your jacket is protected by a waterproof coating that withstands 15,000 mm H2O (Schmerber). In other words, it's as if it could withstand a 15-meter raindrop. So you can hike with complete peace of mind in heavy rain.

What tests are needed for waterproofing?

To ensure the jacket's waterproofing, we conduct laboratory tests to simulate rain scenarios. This garment has been validated in a shower test under 60 liters of water per square meter per hour for two hours. This test replicates the average conditions of a mountain downpour.

      What about the hood?

This hood adjusts perfectly to your head thanks to an elastic drawstring that controls the height and a Velcro closure at the back for depth. It also has a small visor that effectively protects your face from the rain. You'll stay dry even in bad weather!

      How breathable is the jacket?

The JIS L 1099 B1 test measures the amount of water vapor passing through a fabric over 24 hours, in grams per square meter. The higher this value, the more breathable the fabric. A performance of 15000 g/m²/24h, which is highly breathable, is ideal for mountain hiking.

      Information about the jacket's components?

This jacket uses a membrane, which is a very thin film bonded to the underside of the outer fabric (2,5-layer construction). This technique makes the jacket waterproof while remaining breathable and lightweight.

What is the cut of this jacket?

This jacket has a standard fit that follows the shape of the body without being tight. It offers enough room inside to wear a sweater or fleece underneath. This design allows you to layer your clothing depending on the temperature and maintain freedom of movement.

      How to reactivate water repellency?

Water repellency is when water beads up and rolls off your jacket instead of soaking it. This treatment can weaken over time, but don't worry! To reactivate it, simply tumble dry your jacket for 10 minutes on a low heat setting. Alternatively, use the re-waterproofing spray, ref. 8554908.

      BREATHABILITY

The breathability of a component is measured by its “Thermal Evaporative Resistance” (RET). This is its ability to allow water vapor produced by the body during exercise to escape to the outside and thus prevent water from accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET value, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric RET ≤ 20: not very breathable fabric This product has been rated at 10 RET

      HOW TO REACTIVATE WATER REPELLENCE

The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to allow water to slide off its surface without absorbing it. The textile does not become waterlogged and remains light and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment. Water repellency can be reactivated by putting the jacket in the dryer for 10 minutes at a low temperature. You can also use the re-waterproofing agent (ref. 8554908)
