To teach children to ride a bike, the balance bike stage is a great accelerator for mastering balance! Our 2-in-1 innovation allows you to remove and install the pedals in 10 seconds! At the beginning of learning, you can offer them the balance bike mode: they will thus get used to their new bike, braking, balance... Then you can then offer them the bike mode by installing the pedals and cranks. No tools required, let's go!

More accessible brakes and a better grip are the advantages of our "Easy Stop System." For a more natural movement, the brake lever is pressed parallel to the handlebars. FRAME MATERIALS AND SHAPE

This steel frame has been optimized to avoid being unnecessarily heavy for a child's morphology. We are proud, thanks to our studies, to have lightened this bike by 1,5 kg compared to our old 3-5 year bikes, and this without impacting its resistance. The shape of the frame allows children to feel confident: it makes it easier to get on or off the saddle, without the risk of hitting the frame.

THE CHILD GROWS, SO DOES THE BIKE!

The saddle is height adjustable between 41,5 cm and 52,5 cm using a BTR key (Allen 5), which corresponds to a height window of 20 cm (90 cm to 110 cm). The handlebar is also adjustable by 4 cm. CAUTION: Do not exceed the maximum height recommended on the seat tube and handlebar (marking engraved on the stems)

STABILIZER INFORMATION

Is it possible to add training wheels? Yes, if your child feels the need. Our 14-inch Btwin stabilisers are compatible with all our bikes of this size. (To mount them, you will need a 5-mm wrench, not included). Just be aware that according to several studies, apprentice cyclists will transition more easily and quickly to cycling if they master balance in balance bike mode (without pedals).

WHEELS / TIRES INFO

These tires are equipped with an inner tube (inflatable). Their shape and pattern give them good efficiency without sacrificing grip on everyday terrain (roads, paths, lawns, etc.). The design of the HONEY COMB tires is exclusive to B'TWIN.

CARTER INFORMATION

To prevent children from putting their fingers where they shouldn't, the mechanical parts of the transmission (crank, chain, freewheel, etc.) are enclosed by the casing. It also prevents the risk of shoelaces getting caught and clothes getting dirty. The rear of the casing is easily removable for repairs or chain tightening! Casing material: plastic.

ACCESSORY INFORMATION

What accessories are included with the bike? A bell, front and rear lights. To enhance visibility, this bike has wheel reflectors (reflective plates attached to the spokes) and pedals. To keep the bike and its paintwork in good condition, we recommend equipping it with a kickstand. (code 8872192)

HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE BIKE? video available: https://support.decathlon.fr

TOOLS: #14 flat wrench (or pedal wrench) + a #5 Allen key. 1/ Position and tighten the handlebars with the Allen key (tightening torque: 20 +/-2 Nm). Be careful to position the brake cables correctly. 2/ Open the front brake. 3/ Turn the bike over. 4/ Place and tighten the wheel. 5/ Turn the bike over and close the front brake. 6/ Position and tighten the cranks with the wheel: Right (R Right) to the right, left (L: Left) to the left. 7/ Adjust the saddle.
