We designed this UV-protective t-shirt for the beginner surfer who surfs the whitewater.
You start surfing or only surf a few times a year, during your holidays or on a surf trip. You stay where you are, in very small waves or foam. You practice for the pleasure of being in the water and for the sensations it gives you. During your sessions, you fall often but you fall in weak waves. We have designed for you a wide range of swimsuits adapted to your occasional practice and your morphology.
All our UV protection t-shirts are UPF50+, meaning they offer the maximum level of sun protection. The choice will therefore be based on the sleeve length and will then depend on the type of stresses during the practice. Surfing is where the constraints are greatest, so we decided to build our range primarily for surfing. For surfing, the choice will be made according to the duration of your sessions: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.
1 hour: Occasional use. You can choose between a loose fit (priority given to ease of donning and dry comfort) or a fitted cut (priority given to wet comfort). A buckle system to connect to the shorts provides stability. 2 hours: Regular use. Wet comfort is enhanced thanks to the seamless panels under the arms and the drawstring, which further increases stability. 3 hours: Intensive use. Added thermal insulation to last longer in the water.
The textile that makes up this OLAIAN anti-UV product blocks at least 98% of UVB and 95% of UVA (UPF 50+). This is the guarantee of effective protection against the sun. It can be used in and out of the water for water and water sports. UV filtration is generated by the density of the textile fibers, this protection lasts over time, even after washing. Chlorine resistant.
UPF is a sun protection index (Ultra Violet Protection Factor) standardized and standardized worldwide. It defines the level of textile protection and more precisely the proportion of UV transmission. In order to meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the textile blocks at least 95% of UVA and 98% of UVB.
This anti-UV t-shirt limits friction with the surfboard or bodyboard. The loose fit of the t-shirt makes it easier to put on and more comfortable when dry. Opt for the fitted cut of the 100 or 500 top if you prefer wet comfort or if you wear it under the wetsuit. The limitation of irritations is validated for sessions of 1 hour. If you plan to surf for more than 1 hour, the choice of the UV 500 top will be more suitable thanks to the seamless panels under the arms.
This anti-UV water t-shirt has a loop at the front to pass the cord of the swim shorts to prevent the top from riding up during practice. This solution is recommended for sessions up to 1 hour. Beyond one hour, we recommend choosing the UV 500 top which also has a drawstring and ties on each side to attach to the bottom of the swimsuit. This will allow a better hold in the wave and therefore better protection.
Our UV tops are designed to meet the most demanding surfers. Our design choices also make them compatible with other water sports such as swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, active sea walking (longe-coast) or SUP (stand-up paddle )
Although this t-shirt provides protection from the sun, phenomena such as reflection (on water, sand...), heat, time of day, etc. must be taken into account. Wearing this t-shirt does not exempt you from following appropriate behavior: wearing sunglasses, wearing a hat or cap, regularly applying suitable sunscreen, drinking regularly, etc.
