All our UV protection t-shirts are UPF50+, meaning they offer the maximum level of sun protection. The choice will therefore be based on the sleeve length and will then depend on the type of stresses during the practice. Surfing is where the constraints are greatest, so we decided to build our range primarily for surfing. For surfing, the choice will be made according to the duration of your sessions: 1 hour, 2 hours, or 3 hours.
1 hour: Occasional use. You can choose between a loose fit (priority given to ease of donning and dry comfort) or a fitted cut (priority given to wet comfort). A buckle system to connect to the shorts provides stability. 2 hours: Regular use. Wet comfort is enhanced thanks to the seamless panels under the arms and the drawstring, which further increases stability. 3 hours: Intensive use. Added thermal insulation to last longer in the water.
The fabric that makes up this OLAIAN anti-UV product blocks at least 98% of UVB rays and 95% of UVA rays (UPF 50+). This guarantees effective protection against the sun. It can be used in and out of the water for water sports and aquatic activities. UV filtration is generated by the density of the textile fibers; this protection is durable over time, even after washing.
UPF is a globally standardized and regulated sun protection factor (Ultra Violet Protection Factor). It defines the textile's level of protection and, more specifically, the proportion of UV rays transmitted. To meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the textile blocks at least 95% of UVA rays and 98% of UVB rays.
This UV-protective t-shirt limits friction and irritation caused by contact with a surfboard or bodyboard. It can also be worn under a wetsuit to limit friction, particularly around the neck and armpits. We designed seamless panels under the arms to limit irritation caused by paddling movements. Our testing protocols confirmed that irritation was effectively limited during 2-hour sessions.
This OLAIAN anti-UV top has a drawstring at the hips. It allows you to tighten the top to ensure better stability. It has also been studied to be able to pass the cord of the swim shorts in order to prevent the top from riding up during practice.
The minimum recommended water temperature for using this anti-UV t-shirt is 21°C. Air temperature can increase or decrease this recommendation. Our thermal models (over 2 hours) are made of either fleece, neoprene, or both. The presence of wind will have an impact that can be bothersome as soon as the wind exceeds 15 km/h: In this case, choose a model with neoprene.
Our UV tops are designed to meet the most demanding surfers. Our design choices also make them compatible with other water sports such as swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, active sea walking (longe-coast) or SUP (stand-up paddle ).
Because the child's defense system is put in place after the age of 3, the skin of children is very sensitive to the sun. At identical exposure, the effects of the sun are 2 to 3 times greater in a child than in an adult. It is therefore important to protect them effectively.
Although this t-shirt provides protection from the sun, phenomena such as reflection (on water, sand...), heat, time of day, etc. must be taken into account. Wearing this t-shirt does not exempt you from following appropriate behavior: wearing sunglasses, wearing a hat or cap, regularly applying suitable sunscreen, drinking regularly, etc.

Comfortable long-sleeved UV t-shirt, my son wore it without any problems during a stay in the sun, whether at the beach or at the pool.
Effective against UV rays but the collar is too tight, so children are reluctant to put it on. Could you put snaps on the back like on the baby models? Thanks!
