      LAYER CONSTRUCTION

      3-layer construction: The membrane is bonded between the outer and inner fabrics. We use it for durable, high-performance over-trousers.

      WATERPROOF OVER-TROUSERS

      To ensure the jacket's waterproofing level, we conduct laboratory tests to simulate rain scenarios. This garment has been validated in a shower test under 18 cm of rain over 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a mountain storm.

      WHERE DO OUR BABY SHOES COME FROM

      Designed at our international design center at the foot of Mont Blanc in France, these over-trousers are then manufactured by our suppliers in Bangladesh. These partners possess genuine expertise in over-trouser production, and we work closely with them. This relationship of trust with our industrial partners allows us to create high-quality technical products.

      MEMBRANE

      A product's waterproofness depends on two main criteria: its component and its construction. This product was constructed with a membrane. It's a type of very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being flexible, lightweight, and breathable.

      COMPONENT BREATHABILITY

      The JIS L 1099 B1 test measures the amount of water vapor passing through a fabric over 24 hours, in grams per square meter. The higher this value, the more breathable the fabric. A performance of 10000 g/m²/24h, indicating breathability, is ideal for hiking.

      PRODUCT DESIGN: OUR EXPERTISE

      Our global Quechua design center is based in Passy, ​​at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. This location makes it a real meeting place between our teams (designers, product managers, engineers, etc.) and outdoor sports enthusiasts.       CUTTING

      Standard fit. Ample interior space allows it to be worn over trousers, tights, or shorts. Note: Hemming is not possible due to the side zippers at the leg openings.

      HOW TO REACTIVATE WATER REPELLENCE

      A fabric's water repellency is its ability to allow water to bead and roll off its surface without being absorbed. The fabric doesn't become waterlogged and remains lightweight and breathable. Water repellency is achieved through a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric. This treatment needs to be renewed during the garment's lifespan. Water repellency can be reactivated by tumble drying the pants for 10 minutes on a low heat setting or by using a water repellent reactivation spray. (Ref: 8551983)

      WATERPROOFING OF THE COMPONENT

      To guarantee the waterproof rating of a component, laboratory tests are performed. These tests measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in millimeters of water column (based on the JIS 1092 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This component has a waterproof rating of 15000 mm and therefore resists the pressure exerted by a 15000 mm water column. This is also equivalent to 15000 Schmerbers.
