To take your measurements:

  • Head:  Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.
  • Chest:  Wrap a measuring tape around your back and come forward as far as your chest goes. Make sure it is straight and parallel to the ground.
    Raise your head, tighten the tape and breathe normally.
  • Size:  Wrap a tape measure around the narrowest part of your waist, above your belly button.

      What is a softshell?

      This is a warm protective jacket that protects you from wind and a short shower (around 30 min) of light rain or snow. The fabric used is a combination of 3 materials. A breathable and windproof micro-porous membrane is sandwiched between the water-repellent outer side and the inner side made of comfortable and warm fleece.

      Thermal comfort and windproof

      The wind considerably increases the feeling of cold. Thus, for an outside temperature of 0°C, with 20 km/h wind the perceived temperature will be -10°C. The so-called “windproof” components eliminate the discomfort linked to this cooling effect. By constituting a barrier against the wind, they very effectively reduce heat loss.

      breathability

      The main fabric present on the entire jacket except the sides, has a windproof membrane with a breathability of 2814 g/m2 /24h (according to the JIS 1099 A standard).

      Water repellency of the component (not to be confused with impermeability)

      The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to allow water to slide off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents your jacket from becoming waterlogged and keeps it lightweight and breathable. Water repellency is achieved through a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric, but it can be altered over time. Water repellency can be reactivated by tumble drying the jacket for 10 minutes at a low temperature.
