Operating temperature
We display on all our sleeping bags the comfort temperatures tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX) according to the European standard ISO 23537-1 of 21/01/2017. The comfort temperature is the lower limit of comfort at which a person in a relaxed posture is generally in thermal equilibrium and is neither cold nor hot (determined for a standard woman and under normal conditions of use). Choose your sleeping bag according to this.
Washing your sleeping bag
We recommend using a washing machine with a minimum capacity of 7 kg and closing the zippers of your sleeping bag properly.
What is the comfort limit temperature?
The comfort limit temperature is the limit temperature at which a person curled up in their sleeping bag is generally in thermal equilibrium and is neither cold nor hot (determined for a man and under normal conditions of use).
Washing your sleeping bag
We recommend using a washing machine with a minimum capacity of 7 kg and closing the zippers of your sleeping bag properly.
Little tips before slipping into your bag
Dress simply (one layer of clothing is enough). Warm your extremities: hats, gloves, socks, hand warmers, rubbing, etc. A hot water bottle can be used as a hot water bottle (if there is no risk of it accidentally opening!). Contract your muscles (70% of the energy consumed is transformed into heat) but without making any movement that generates a cold draft. To wash your sleeping bag less, we recommend using a sleeping bag liner.
What you need to know about temperatures
A sleeping bag does not produce heat; it stores the heat produced by the body. If you are exhausted, cold, and slip into your icy, wet sleeping bag, you risk feeling cold, regardless of its qualities! These temperatures therefore depend on the person's resistance to cold (body size, fatigue, etc.), their equipment (insulating mattress from the ground, etc.), their clothing (naked, underwear, etc.), and the climatic conditions (humidity, wind, etc.).
Washing your sleeping bag
We recommend using a washing machine with a minimum capacity of 7 kg and closing the zippers of your sleeping bag properly.
