How to adjust the size of children's skates?
See the little tab at the front of the shoe? Simply velcro it over the desired number. 1 for the smallest size, 2 for the intermediate size, and 3 for the largest. This frees up the space at the front of the foot, giving you two sizes. Clever, right?
Optional stability kit (ref 8282768)
The hardware kit called stability kit can be adapted to all sizes of PLAY3 and PLAY5 roller skates. This stability kit allows you to start with a tricycle configuration: a good way to increase stability during the first outings and, for your child, to quickly gain confidence.
Do you want to repair or maintain the skates?
You can find wheels of various sizes (even light-up ones), brakes, and even compatible screws on our website and in your Decathlon workshop department. Everything is very easy to assemble. What safety tips?
We recommend the full package: helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards. Because ultimately, the body part you land on... it's a bit random.
Rubber brakes and wheels... or plastic?
Unlike plastic, which skids but doesn't brake, rubber has good grip: it allows your child to skate without slipping when pushing, and to brake effectively. In addition, rubber wears out less quickly than plastic. Our Oxelo teams are committed to safety - regardless of the child's technical level. We have therefore chosen to equip all children's roller skates with rubber wheels and brakes, not PVC.
How to extend the life of the wheels?
Depending on where they are placed on the skate, some wheels will wear out faster than others. Don't hesitate to swap their positions regularly. It's definitely time to change them when the wear reaches the first of the 7 visible circles on the inside of the wheel.

When we're parents and our little one is taking the plunge for the first time, we tend to hold their arms. A reflex, but a false good idea. So how can you help your child? Bring them near a banister and tell them to simply try walking in small steps, while holding onto the banister with one hand. Progress guaranteed!
How are our products tested?
All our skates are laboratory tested. These tests validate European standards for roller skate use, as well as wear tests. These lab tests are supplemented by field tests, some measured, others based on the testers' perceptions, who then put the product to the test. The result: a product that's tested, proven... and approved.
