When doing this, you may need: A pad spreader, brake cleaner and a microfiber cloth.
The purpose of bed-in is to create a consistent contact area between the pads and discs by gradually heating them. Before bed-in, clean the brake discs, replace them if you're installing new pads, and ensure you're properly equipped. For added safety, bed in on a flat, dry, and clear road.
A good break-in involves alternating the front and rear brakes, followed by exercises in stages: ten braking sessions from 15 to 5 km/h, ten more from 20 to 5 km/h, then ten last from 25 to 5 km/h. Take care to ventilate the disc and the caliper between each stage by riding for a few meters without applying the brakes.
To properly break in your bike's brakes, use only one brake at a time, without jerking or sudden braking. Ride on a flat road and give the system time to adjust; this can take about 30 minutes. If your discs have rainbow-like streaks or if braking loses power, your pads are probably glazed. The Decathlon Workshop can help you correct this.

Does the job RAS
Perfect for a Rockrider 6.3
Very easy to install (pads without staples but plated by magnetization) but it squeaks a lot and the braking does not seem very effective to me (also limited by the mechanical cable brake unlike hydraulics). In the end, my 20-year-old pads were doing just as well for the moment. If you still have padding on the same type of pads, don't bother getting new ones, it won't be more effective. To see after a little use to break them in if it improves.
