  • Head:  Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.

              GUIDE TO SIZES KID

              To take your measurements:

              • Height: Stand against a wall, barefoot or in socks, heels against the wall.
                Stand up straight, then hold a book or flat object above your head.
                Block the book, mark the bottom edge of the book. Measure the distance from the floor to the mark.
              • Head: Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.
              • Main:  Hold a tape measure at the bend of your thumb. Wrap around your palm.
              • Feet: hold on stand against a wall, heels touching the wall. Place an object (eg a book...) against your longest toe.
                Measure the length between the wall and the object.

              SKATE. EDUCATION. COMMUNITY. These are the pillars of Janwaar Castle – an incredible skatepark, nestled in the small, remote village of Janwaar, India. There, skateboarding is much more than 4 wheels and a deck. It's THE vehicle for social change, gender equality, and education. Decathlon Skateboarding is proud to support The Rural Change Makers (since 2016) by launching two collaborative deck models, 2" / 8". Profits from these decks will be donated to the NGO.

              Wood and quality of "pop"

              This board is made of 7 plies of Canadian maple (Hard Rock Maple) which is the best wood species for the manufacture of technical skateboards. The wood of this board is FSC certified (from sustainably managed forests). The board is cold pressed to guarantee better resistance to stress. We use a high-performance water-based glue that is significantly less polluting than Epoxy resins.

              Only one board per mold

              Our maple boards are cold pressed, one by one. This means that each mold contains only one board per pressing pass. This allows us to guarantee optimal pressure distribution and that each board of the same model has exactly the same shape, the same concave. An advantage for those who want to always skate the same shape.

              How much does the DK120 8" skateboard deck weigh?

              About 1,1kg. Since the boards are sanded by hand and each ply of wood is not exactly the same density, the weight may differ a little from board to board. Of course, the board is only one component that will determine the weight of your skateboard. Wheel size and trucks will also have a big impact.

              What size board should I choose?

              A skateboard deck is chosen mainly by its width. The narrower the board, the more manageable it will be (ideal for beginners and smaller builds). The wider it is, the more stable and reassuring it will be when landing tricks and will suit those who skate on ramps or those with large builds. Dimensions are measured in inches. 1 inch = 2,54 cm. The length and the wheelbase (Wheelbase) also have a strong impact on the handling and stability of the board
