The Tarmak K500 basketball hoop is ideal for children up to 8 years old. To grow with your child, it also adjusts very easily without tools to 4 heights (1,30m, 1,40m, 1,50m and 1,60m). Sturdy with its steel post and 20-liter weighted base, it will be perfect in your garden or on your terrace for the greatest pleasure of your children. For the ball, we recommend you play with size 3.

The size of the ball depends on the age or gender of the player. Baby basket: size 1 to 3. Girls and boys under 10 years old: size 5. Girls over 10 years old or women and boys from 10 to 12 years old: size 6. Boys over 12 years old and men: size 7. If you want a very durable ball, choose a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good touch, a leather or synthetic ball is what you need. For the K500 we recommend size 3.
The regulatory height of a basketball hoop is 3,05m (height of the hoop). If you are looking for a basketball backboard for a child, you should choose a basketball hoop with a height adjustment system. For the youngest, there is no official height, so you can choose the height that suits them. Then, up to the age of 10, children play in clubs on 2,60m hoops. After 10, girls and boys play on 3,05m basketball backboards.
To avoid accidents or breakage in the event of strong winds or storms, we strongly recommend placing your basketball backboard on the ground. The larger the board, the greater the wind resistance, especially when it's raised high. Don't take any risks. If you live in a very windy area, you can also add additional weights to your basketball hoop.
Most basketball hoops are weighted with water or sand (see product information). Sand, however, is denser, so for the same volume it will be heavier: your hoop will be more stable (but less mobile). Water can also freeze in winter and break the plastic base in very low temperatures or flow out invisibly if there is a crack in the base. Our advice: for added safety, weight your hoop with sand.
We recommend cleaning your basketball hoop with a damp sponge and soap. Rinse with clean water. If your hoop has foam post protection, feel free to store it indoors during the winter. We recommend protecting your backboard with a tarp against frost and rain.
