GUIDE TO SIZES MEN

To take your measurements:

  • Head:  Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.
  • Chest:  Wrap a measuring tape around your back and come forward as far as your chest goes. Make sure it is straight and parallel to the ground.
    Raise your head, tighten the tape and breathe normally.
  • Size:  Wrap a tape measure around the narrowest part of your waist, above your belly button.
    Raise your head, tighten the tape and breathe normally.
  • Main:  Hold a tape measure at the bend of your thumb. Wrap around your palm.
  • Feet: hold on stand against a wall, heels touching the wall. Place an object (eg a book...) against your longest toe.
    Measure the length between the wall and the object.

      Performance and power

      At Subea, we've developed a "finning robot." This robot is a test bench that measures the fin's propulsion and the energy it requires from the diver. From this, we can deduce a fin's efficiency. We use this robot throughout the development of our products to correlate our sensations in use with a scientific measurement. Each fin prototype is tested until we obtain a product that meets our expectations.

      Chausson

      Part of the fin where the foot is positioned. The SCD 900 fin's foot pocket has been specially developed to fit the foot very well. Its central X keeps the foot firmly wedged in the fin so that there is no feeling of losing the fin during use. The rear pull tab at the heel makes it easy to adjust the fin.

      canopy

      The flat part of the fin that contributes to its power. The blade of the SCD 900 fin is bi-material with two different hardnesses. The use of a softer material on the three channels maximizes their deployment and increases thrust. Their "accordion" shape also increases the volume of water displaced and therefore increases thrust. The lateral ribs are robust and thick to transmit muscle power well over the entire length of the blade.
