The flat part of the fin contributes to its power. The blade of the SCD 900 fin is made of two materials with two different hardnesses. The use of a softer material on the three channels maximizes their deployment and increases thrust. Their "accordion" shape also increases the volume of water displaced and therefore increases thrust. The lateral ribs are robust and thick to effectively transmit muscle power along the entire length of the blade.
Chausson
Part of the fin where the foot is positioned. The SCD 900 fin's foot pocket has been specially developed to fit the foot very well. Its central X keeps the foot firmly wedged in the fin so that there is no feeling of losing the fin during use. The rear pull tab at the heel makes it easy to adjust the fin.
Stability
The lateral ribs, the position of the blade centered in the middle of these ribs as well as the lateral wings or tip and under the blade ensure very good stability of the fin, whatever the way of finning (classically, scissor or using the frog-kick technique).
Sole
The entire underfoot area is ribbed and made of soft material to prevent slipping on the boat toe. The size marking is made with extra thickness with soft material to be easy to read.
Performance and power
At Subea, we have developed a "finning robot." This robot is a test bench that allows us to measure the fin's propulsion and the energy it requires from the diver. From this, we can deduce a fin's efficiency. We use this robot throughout the development of our products to correlate our sensations in use with a scientific measurement. Each fin prototype is tested until we obtain the product that meets our expectations.

I find them heavy and rigid but do the job, however expensive for a Decathlon brand
I loved using these fins on a regular basis, they are light, stable, powerful, it's what I found the best for me. Unfortunately they split in the middle of the liner after not even 1 year of use, it's a bit of a shame
Fins bought for my son in October 2022 with non-intensive use. Once a week, in the pool, for 1 hour. Plastic tear at the level of the kick for the two palms. The part split making them unusable. Very disappointed with this pair of fins. I am very surprised, especially since I purchased a pair of fins from your brand 1 years ago and they are still in perfect condition.
