      Product Description:

Passionate about trekking, our designers came up with this compact mattress to insulate themselves from the ground and sleep well in a bivouac.

This 193 x 60 cm self-inflating trekking mattress inflates easily and remains compact. Its 2,5 cm thickness ensures comfort and insulation from the ground for a good night's sleep while camping.

      Product information

Passionate about trekking, our designers came up with this compact mattress to insulate themselves from the ground and sleep well in a bivouac.

The principle of a self-inflating mattress

A self-inflating mattress consists of a waterproof cover glued to open-cell foam in which air circulates. When you unfold your mattress, it will regain its shape and thickness (2,5 cm for the MT100 mattress) and fill with air. However, you will have to finish inflating it by mouth, which also allows you to adjust the pressure to your comfort. Self-inflation is more or less noticeable depending on the thickness of the mattress.

      Ease of assembly and disassembly

During the first use, unroll your mattress, valve open for 24 hours on a flat surface, then inflate it and leave the valve closed for 24 hours, under pressure. You can store it again. In bivouac, take out and unroll your mattress as soon as you set up camp, valve open to facilitate pre-inflation. A self-inflating mattress inflates itself to about 60-70%. The rest of the inflation must be done with the mouth in order to adjust the pressure to your comfort.

      What is R-Value?

R-Value is a measure of thermal resistance. It measures a mattress's ability to retain or prevent heat from escaping from a warm body (the human body) to a cold floor. The higher the R-Value, the better the mattress's insulation. It's important to know that R-Values are additive; this means you can use two mattresses and add their R-Values together. All our mattresses are tested according to ASTM F2-3340.

      Which R-Value for which use?

R-value from 0 to 1.9: Use in the warm season (summer) only R-value from 2 to 3: Use over 2 or 3 seasons (spring-summer-autumn) R-value from 3 to 4: Use over 4 seasons R-value from 4.5 and above: Use over 4 seasons and in extreme conditions (glacier, far north and high altitude)

Tips for sleeping well on your mattress

Once you're lying down, remember to adjust the mattress's inflation pressure by gently pressing the IN valve (open cap). A mattress that's too hard often means discomfort. Silicone patches on the top of the mattress are designed to prevent your sleeping bag from slipping on the mattress.

How to repair a leak on your mattress?

An inflatable mattress isn't puncture-proof, but it can be repaired! When using it, you should take the greatest possible care in its installation and handling. In case of a problem, we recommend using self-adhesive repair patches (ref: 8557113).
