Why do my swimming goggles fog up?

The appearance of fog is mainly due to the difference in temperature between the body and the water. Since the body is warmer than the environment, fog appears inside the lenses through evaporation. From then on, each micro-drop of sweat will stick to the inside of the swimming goggles. In reality, this is lucky: all these drops will end up combining and thus create a film of water through which you will be able to see clearly.

Anti-fog treatment

Anti-fog coating creates a microscopic film of water to allow clear vision, but its wear is accelerated by friction on the inside of the lenses or overexposure to chlorinated water. Taking care of the inside of your lenses is essential. Over time, it is normal for the anti-fog to diminish. Briefly soaking the glasses in water can help in the short term, but also accelerates the wear of the coating. Our anti-fog marker allows you to reactivate the treatment!

Size: how to choose your swimming goggles?

Available in size S (children and small heads) and size L (large heads). The watertightness of the goggles depends on the adaptation of the silicone skirts to the shape of the face. Before buying your goggles, we advise you to carry out the "suction cup" test without the elastic. Position the goggles on your eyes, if they hold on their own with a slight suction, then they will be watertight once in the water. This test also allows you to identify areas of discomfort or discomfort on the face.

How to properly adjust your swimming goggles?

Swimming goggles that are adapted to the shape of your face do not require significant adjustment. Goggles that are too tight can cause discomfort, marks and sometimes even water ingress. It is not necessary to press on the lenses with your hands; a slight suction effect is often sufficient for swimming sessions without water ingress. The straps ideally pass 2 to 3 cm above the ears. This position will optimize the fit and comfort of the goggles.

The tint of the glasses

The tint of your glasses must be adapted to your place of practice and its luminosity. If you practice outdoors or in a swimming pool with strong light, prefer glasses with smoked lenses to limit glare. dark with low light, in the evening in winter for example, prefer clear lenses. SOFT swimming goggles are available in two shades of lenses (smoked and clear).

UV protection

In accordance with QB/T 4734-2023, all our swimming goggles protect against harmful UVA and UVB rays during normal use, regardless of the tint of the lenses. Direct observation of the sun is dangerous and can lead to irreparable eye damage.
