              To take your measurements:

              • Height: Stand against a wall, barefoot or in socks, heels against the wall.
                Stand up straight, then hold a book or flat object above your head.
                Block the book, mark the bottom edge of the book. Measure the distance from the floor to the mark.
              • Head: Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.
              • Main:  Hold a tape measure at the bend of your thumb. Wrap around your palm.
              • Feet: hold on stand against a wall, heels touching the wall. Place an object (eg a book...) against your longest toe.
                Measure the length between the wall and the object.

              When light passes through binoculars, some of its intensity is lost. Each lens it passes through absorbs some of the light, a few percentages. But with 10 optical elements, the amount absorbed is significant. It is therefore necessary to apply a coating to each element to reduce this absorbed portion. But each coating comes at a cost. And the more effective the coating, the more expensive it is. The design is therefore a clever blend of efficiency and price.

              Image Quality (Part 2)

              The binoculars are equipped with a BaK4 prism with silver coating and lenses with FMC treatment: Full multi-coated, meaning that all surfaces are multi-coated for optimal light transmission. These two elements provide a light transmission of 2% as well as very good contrast and color rendering in daytime. The prism provides good sharpness for observing details.

              And in terms of waterproofing, how good are these binoculars?

              The pair is filled with nitrogen to ensure waterproofing and internal anti-fog. Note: they are resistant to immersion to a depth of 1 meter for 15 minutes.

              Brightness and use

              Are you always on the go? The 500 10x32 binoculars offer good image quality for a light weight and compact size. We recommend them if you plan to travel with them a lot, or if you need to easily store them in a jacket pocket, for example (to quickly take them out). Their image quality allows you to fully enjoy the details of the animals you observe, only during daylight hours.

              The human pupil size varies from 2 to 3 mm during the day, from 4 to 5 mm at dusk, and from 6 to 7 mm in the dark. It is therefore important to choose binoculars with an exit pupil that covers your entire pupil to exploit all their brightness according to your needs. The 10x32 has an exit pupil of 3,2 mm: they are therefore very well suited for use in broad daylight.

              Sharpness adjustment and spectacle wearer

              The eyecups are retractable to accommodate eyeglass wearers. Without glasses, extend the eyecups as far as they will go by turning them. When wearing glasses, position the eyecups screwed against the body of the binoculars. To see the object or animal being observed clearly and sharply, use the central adjustment wheel by turning it left or right until you obtain a sharp image.

              Adjusting the vision gap between the two eyes

              To correct the vision gap between the two eyes: close your right eye and focus on an object about fifty meters away using the central focus wheel. Once the object is in focus, close your other eye and repeat the operation, this time focusing with the ring located near the right eyepiece. The gap is now corrected. There is no need to adjust this ring in the future.
