A hitch? here's how to repair your down jacket
When trekking, a snag in a down jacket can happen! The good news is that you can repair it with a repair patch to prevent the tear from getting bigger or feathers from escaping. Don't feel comfortable doing this repair yourself? Don't panic! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your down jacket using an iron-on patch.

How to reactivate water repellency?
After cleaning your down jacket, we recommend using a water-repellent reactivator liquid to maintain the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. It helps regenerate the fabric's water repellency and optimize the performance of your garment throughout its lifespan.

The advantages of duck down and feather filling
The loft of down gives it 3 qualities for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers. - Ultra lightness: for equal warmth, the feather is lighter than synthetic wadding. This allows you to save even more weight in your backpack. - Ultra compressibility.
What level of warmth does this down jacket offer?
This down jacket, worn as a third layer, has been validated for a comfort temperature of -3°C during activity, during a protocolized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a long-sleeved synthetic t-shirt and a lightweight fleece. He is walking in a simulated wind at 10 km/h. We also tested this model statically. Its comfort temperature is then 5°C.
How to measure the fill power of a down and feather filling?
Fill power represents the thermal insulation capacity of down by "trapping" a certain volume of air. It is expressed in cuin. Thus, the more the down has a certain volume of air (the higher the cuin number), the more space it occupies, the more air it traps, and therefore the more it insulates. For this down jacket filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, the fill power is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 660 cuin (international standard).

Water repellency of the component (not to be confused with waterproofness)
The water repellency of a fabric is its ability to let water slide over its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the textile from becoming waterlogged and remains light and warm. The material of this down jacket is water-repellent, however we recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over it in case of prolonged exposure to rain. Water repellency is achieved by a treatment applied to the outer side of the fabric, but it may be altered with use. We recommend reactivating it after each wash.
How to maintain a down jacket?
The down jacket will be worn all winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it retains its thermal insulation and water repellency. Our advice: 1/ Machine wash with a detergent for down or technical sportswear, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin. 2/ Tumble dry on cotton setting, with 2 or 3 tennis balls, repeat 2 or 3 times until completely dry.
