      Product information

Complete your home gym with this 1kg weight training weight. Sold individually, it allows you to adapt the load during your sessions.

What are the dimensions of your 1kg cast iron weight?

      - Weight: 1kg - Thickness: 13mm - Inner diameter: 28mm - Outer diameter: 135mm

      Why use cast iron weights?

      - Cast iron is more resistant to shocks, falls and crushing (5 times more) than vinyl. - Cast iron has a textured surface ensuring excellent grip and traction, even with wet hands, unlike plastic, which is often slippery. Choosing our cast iron weights means choosing efficiency and reliability in your training.

Our cast iron discs are produced from at least 80% recycled cast iron

Since 2018, our teams have progressively incorporated recycled materials until they achieved the best compromise. After several years of experimentation, Decathlon is replacing its entire range of cast iron products with 80% recycled cast iron made from at least 80% scrap metal and steel waste—a remarkable achievement in the metal industry! To guarantee quality equivalent to conventional cast iron, tests are carried out in partner laboratories.

Our coach gives you ideas for using your cast iron weights

If you have a dumbbell, you can perform standing presses with one or two dumbbells. Shoulder and triceps exercise: - Standing press 4x8 at 10 repetitions. Try to have 2 margin repetitions at the end of your sets. Increase the number of repetitions and then the weight as you progress.

On which weight bars or dumbbells can I use the 1kg disc?

This 1kg weight can be used to load 28mm bars including the following: - 1,2 meter straight bar (ref: 8289897) - 1,2 meter curl bar (ref: 8484124) - 86 cm triceps bar (ref: 8484125) - 35 cm short bar (ref: 1041986) - 45 cm threaded bar (ref: 8766096) - 1,55 meter straight bar (ref: 8289896) - 2 meter straight bar (ref: 8289900) 50mm bars are not compatible with this weight.

Why choose a cast iron weight rather than plastic or vinyl?

      - Cast iron, due to its density, offers superior compactness to vinyl, which allows for an increase in the number of discs on the bar (up to 32 kg on a dumbbell) - Cast iron can be kept for life, unlike plastic or vinyl ones which can last less than 1 year. - Less affected by temperature variations, cast iron offers constant use in different climatic conditions.

Keep your cast iron discs for a long time by storing them properly

Cast iron weight plates are virtually indestructible, provided they are kept away from moisture. Store them in a dry place. Dust them with a damp cloth from time to time. Store them on your storage rack (ref: 8788246), a wall-mounted plate rack (ref: 8796727), or in the lower part of a piece of furniture.

Choose disc stops to practice safely

The disc stop is that little accessory that's essential for securing weights on your bars or dumbbells. It prevents weights from slipping during exercises. Our Smart Stop Discs are sold in pairs; you'll need two for one bar, or four if you're working out with two dumbbells (ref: 2).
