Waterproof shoes for 2 hours of hiking in rainy weather
The NH100 low WP shoes are waterproof for 2 hours of hiking. They have been tested for 2000 flexes in the laboratory. Once the shoes are dry, they regain their original waterproofness. During the waterproofing test, we test three levels of waterproofing: - 2000 flexes, approximately 2 hours of hiking - 4000 flexes, approximately 4 hours of hiking - 8000 flexes, approximately 8 hours of hiking
How to choose the right hiking shoe size?
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks you use for hiking. Try on several models, several sizes if necessary. Two comfort points to check: - the heel seat - the forefoot when going downhill Avoid any pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk to test the comfort and support. Use your shoes gradually during the first hikes to break them in to your feet.
Tested for optimal resistance
Laboratory tests are conducted to validate the following elements: tearing of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and upper components, accelerated aging. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.
Which pair of socks are suitable for quechua nh150 waterproof shoes?
These shoes offer some breathability, but not enough to wick away all the moisture from your perspiration. Therefore, we recommend Hike 100 Mid socks: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a terry construction that wicks moisture away from your foot. They're also high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. This is an excellent combination for limiting the appearance of blisters.
Grippy soles on footpaths
The sole design was the subject of extensive research in our laboratories. We favored a specific rubber formulation to optimize grip and adhesion. We systematically seek the best compromise for moving on loose footpaths (forest type) and mineral (coastal type). Use on the road may accelerate the wear of your shoes and cause you discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.
How do we test the waterproofness of your shoes?
Tested in the laboratory and in practice, shoes equipped with a membrane ensure optimal waterproofing and breathability. First immersed in water under air pressure, the absence of bubbles on the surface of the shoe is checked. The shoes are then half-submerged and placed on a mechanical arm simulating walking to check that the inside of the shoe remains perfectly dry.
