  • Head:  Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.

              To take your measurements:

              • Height: Stand against a wall, barefoot or in socks, heels against the wall.
                Stand up straight, then hold a book or flat object above your head.
                Block the book, mark the bottom edge of the book. Measure the distance from the floor to the mark.
              • Head: Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.
              • Main:  Hold a tape measure at the bend of your thumb. Wrap around your palm.
              • Feet: hold on stand against a wall, heels touching the wall. Place an object (eg a book...) against your longest toe.
                Measure the length between the wall and the object.

              Rainwear

              The team designed the MW500 around a liner with a waterproof membrane. It runs all the way around the shoe. Attention was also paid to details, such as a "gutter" that connects the upper and the tongue to prevent water from penetrating the inside of the shoe. The MW500 is made waterproof by its construction, not by any surface treatment. It will therefore remain waterproof throughout its lifespan, not just during the first few uses.

              A 3-piece sole

              When we know the importance of good support in golf, designing a good sole is essential to offer golfers the best connection with the ground. We have combined grip, comfort and resistance. In temperate weather, the ground can be dry or wet. The engineers have therefore developed a 3-piece sole: The rubber part The TPU part offers excellent grip on soft ground The EVA midsole ensures exceptional comfort when walking.

              Dictated by the constraints of swing

              Sophie, a shoe product engineer, worked with the Sportslab teams. They defined the study to be implemented in order to specify, on the one hand, the pressure zones by intensity level, and on the other hand the orientation of these stresses during a golf swing, for the left foot and the right foot.

              Down to the smallest details

              We have thus designed an asymmetrical sole, where each stud fulfills a specific function: length, width, height, there are almost no two identical! They are also distributed over the surface of the sole so as to correspond to the pressure zones during walking and swing. This work on the studs ensures excellent grip qualities while limiting wear. The outsole is also perforated to provide more flexibility and save weight.

              The comfort of the eva

              The Inesis MW500 shoes are extremely comfortable. This comes, as we have seen, from the flexibility and suppleness of the rubber outsole, but also from the cushioning properties of the EVA foam midsole. This is a component that is widely found in running shoes. We benefit from all the expertise of the engineers of the running and trail brands at Decathlon who have developed exclusive EVA formulas.

              A more dynamic rod

              While they started from scratch to design the Inesis Grip Waterproof, Erik and Tanguy were able to draw on the design of the previous version to design the upper of the Inesis MW500 this time. The idea was to keep the identity codes of the Inesis Grip Waterproof while bringing more dynamism to the lines and more comfort to the wearer. The forefoot is now constructed in a single piece for greater flexibility. And then, there is everything that is not visible.

              Tested in all conditions

              Having testers spread across France and starting the test in the middle of winter allows us to push the MW500 to its limits by confronting it with more restrictive conditions than those for which it was designed. The MW500 also encounters a wide variety of courses and terrains: mud, sand, rain, dry ground, etc. The real life of a versatile golf shoe!
