GUIDE TO SIZES MEN

To take your measurements:

  • Head:  Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.
  • Chest:  Wrap a measuring tape around your back and come forward as far as your chest goes. Make sure it is straight and parallel to the ground.
    Raise your head, tighten the tape and breathe normally.
  • Size:  Wrap a tape measure around the narrowest part of your waist, above your belly button.
    Raise your head, tighten the tape and breathe normally.
  • Main:  Hold a tape measure at the bend of your thumb. Wrap around your palm.
  • Feet: hold on stand against a wall, heels touching the wall. Place an object (eg a book...) against your longest toe.
    Measure the length between the wall and the object.

      A RESOLING SERVICE AT DECATHLON

      The soles wear out quickly when climbing. For a regular climber, it generally lasts 6 months to 1 year. It depends on many factors (type of rock or resin, way of climbing, cleanliness of the routes, etc.). As soon as you see the synthetic leather through the rubber, you need to resole it. If you puncture the synthetic leather, it will be difficult to resole. Our Decathlon workshops offer a resoling service to extend the life of the slippers.

      XS Grip material is a component designed and manufactured by VIBRAM. It provides excellent grip on any climbing surface.

      SIZE ADVICE

      If you're a beginner climber, we recommend the same size as your street shoe size. It should feel snug but not painful. If you're a regular climber who's progressing, you can go for a tighter fit (e.g., one size smaller), but it's important to avoid pain so your feet can develop mobility, proprioception, and strength. You'll also enjoy climbing much more.

      MAINTENANCE ADVICE

      Our first advice is not to machine wash your slippers. Mechanical and thermal stresses could damage them. We recommend washing by hand, either with a sponge soaked in clear water, or with a sponge soaked in soapy water (Marseille soap) leaving it to dry in the open air, at a stable temperature, avoiding drying. (radiator or full sun). We recommend washing them regularly to increase the life of the liner.
