How to choose your inner tube
Note all the information visible on the tire's sidewall (diameter and section). For example, 26 x 2.00 means that the tire is 26 inches in diameter and 2.00 inches wide. On the tire's sidewall, you will also find the dimensions in mm in the international ETRTO unit. Installing your inner tube
Watch our video before you begin. Slightly pre-inflate the tube to avoid any risk of pinching. Insert the valve into the valve hole, making sure to use the correct valve type for your rim. Place your tube completely inside the tire, pushing the tube so that it sits in the hollow of the rim. Be careful not to pinch the tube when finally mounting the tire.
Take out your inner tube
Remove the used inner tube using DECATHLON tire levers.
Checks before installing your inner tube
Check the condition of your tire and replace it if necessary. Make sure there are no foreign objects in the tire. Check the condition of your rim tape. A rim tape, even a slightly cracked one, can cause punctures. Check your rim for any damage that could damage your inner tube.
Tire inflation
Carefully inflate your tire to the manufacturer's recommended pressure (visible on the tire sidewall in PSI or bar, 1 bar = 14,51 PSI). Regularly check that the tire is properly positioned during inflation.
The advice of the pro
To avoid pinch punctures and obtain the best performance from your tyre, we advise you to check and, if necessary, re-pressurize your tire before each ride.
Tire mounting
Start by mounting the tire opposite the valve. Finish mounting at the valve height to avoid pinching. Never mount your tire with a screwdriver or tire lever, as this could pinch and puncture the inner tube.
