Seat comfort and seat positioning.

The seats are high to provide greater comfort for adults in the paddling position. Position the seats on the bottom using the Velcro areas located under the seat and on the bottom. Slide any necessary luggage or equipment into the kayak's rear locker or tie it down on the rear deck. The boat is now ready for launching.

Dismantling & folding

Ensure the folding surface is clean. Remove the fins. Deflate the side bladders. The valves are located at the rear of the kayak. CAUTION: Do not unscrew the pressure relief valves located at the front. Fold the bottom. Fold the rest of the kayak in half along the longitudinal axis. Place the front fin base flat. Place the rolled bottom on the front end. Roll the assembly up to the rear tip. Strap the kayak.

Storage

Once dry and clean, the kayak should be stored in a dry, shaded place, unaffected by significant temperature fluctuations. The kayak can be stored folded, but if you have enough space, you can extend its lifespan by storing it flat and slightly inflated.

Canoe kayak regulations <3,50 meters

Is your canoe or kayak inflatable or rigid and less than 3,50 meters long? You are in possession of a beach craft. You must always remain 300 meters from a shelter (any place on the coast where any craft or vessel and its crew can reach safety by anchoring or docking and leave without assistance). A buoyancy aid is not mandatory but strongly recommended to facilitate re-entry into the boat in the event of a fall.

Glide quality

The deck of the Itiwit 100+ kayak uses the same "dropstitch" construction as the inflatable stand-up paddle boards. Dropstitch is a mesh of polyester threads sandwiched between two layers of PVC. When the deck is inflated to high pressure, the threads stretch, making the construction very strong, preventing any deformation.

Directions for use.

We recommend that you practice with a buoyancy aid.

Care instructions

Remove the seats and slightly deflate the bottom to facilitate rinsing. Rinse the kayak, bottom, and seats with clean water after each use to prevent damage from sand, salt water, and sun. Open the drain plugs located in the middle and at the rear of the kayak. Tilt the kayak to empty the water.

Canoe kayak regulations >3,50 meters

Your canoe-kayak is rigid or inflatable with at least two separate air chambers. It measures more than 2 meters. It is "sea approved" by the manufacturer. You can then navigate up to 3,50 nautical miles (approximately 2 km) from a shelter. You will then need to have several safety elements. You can find these elements on the link: https://www.itiwit.fr/reglementation-pour-faire-du-canoe-kayak

Advice on inflation and bottom positioning

Connect the ITIWIT pump (sold separately) using the 1/4 turn pump nozzle and inflate the bottom to 5 PSI. Finish by screwing on the cap. Insert the bottom into the kayak and strap it down at the ends. The bottom valve should be aligned with the side tube valves located at the rear of the kayak. The bottom should be positioned to allow free access to the drain plugs located in the middle of the kayak.

After sales service

Itiwit X100+ kayaks have after-sales service parts. Please visit a Decathlon store workshop to dispose of or order them. Drop Stitch bottom: 8561072 Overpressure valve: 8561069 Carry bag: 8605095 Paddle strap: 8561070

Inflation advice for the side tubes and seats

Connect the ITIWIT pump (sold separately) using the 1/4 turn pump nozzle and inflate the tubes to 3 PSI. Finish by screwing on the cap. Each side tube is equipped with a pressure relief valve. Its role is to evacuate excess air due to overinflation. During this action, a whistling sound may appear. This whistling sound is normal, it can appear during inflation or during prolonged exposure to the sun. It will stop when the pressure inside the kayak is optimal.

Huge lack of reliability.

For navigation no problem, on a large lake, at sea in light weather. Pleasant for hiking, often with 2 adults without looking for speed. (Too bad it is not approved for more than 300m, it is more than 350cm and 3 inflation bladders, but not approved by the Decathlon brand). Always rinse with fresh water, dries very well, vacuum between the side bladders to remove small stones. The problem, leak from the bottom High pressure in 2020, takeoff of a bladder on the right in 2023. Even 300m from the coast wear a life jacket See the reviews, a lot of problems, the same on canoes where the bladders are removable. According to a Decathlon salesman, one of the 2 manufacturing plants did the gluing incorrectly. Repair impossible, why? Another note: the side bladders inflate to 3psi and the discharge valves are calibrated to 3psi? Why are defective products not subject to a product recall since it is recognized? I hope that the new productions will be marked and spotted. THANKS

You have to do well…

You have to dry it well before folding it, even the scratches.

not trustworthy

Kayak that I had in the summer of 2022 I wanted to replace my itiwit 3-seater double skin model. The x100 has better glide, drying is great. However, not reliable. The 1st bottom which took off in July 22 Exchanged then the second the bottom took off on a large part leaving water infiltrated, I specify that I arrived on vacation. Traded again. Decathlon highlights a glue problem. Then on the 3rd September 22 after several uses everything was fine. I then re-crimped it at the beginning of summer 2023, no worries. And... Another problem: the dropstich bottom came off when I arrived on vacation in the Landes for 15 days. Repair impossible. Of course I call Decathlon's valid warranty. After much research, the advisor informed me that no funds were available nationally. Not even a boat. And no restocking date. So no kayaking for my vacation. Finally, fortunately, an exhibition model was available but 85km away. So I had to make a return trip. I find it a shame that the reliability of this model leaves much to be desired. I specify that the inflation is done at the right pressure and that I store and clean it correctly. I have been kayaking for a long time and have owned the itiwit models since their creation. I changed to gliding and drying. But there the adventure with itiwit ends for me. I'm waiting for a reliable model. Tired of arriving on site after miles and having an unpleasant surprise.
