How to choose the material of your swimming cap?
MESH: Made from a fabric similar to swimsuits, it is easy to put on without pulling your hair. A finishing seam goes around the head to guarantee support. COATED MESH: A variation of the mesh hat, it is also comfortable. It is covered with a layer of silicone which reduces water entry and limits its elasticity in favor of support. SILICONE: Less comfortable but very elastic, it ensures excellent support and limits water entry as much as possible.
Are there other types of swimming caps?
There are several alternatives to standard swimming caps to suit everyone's needs: - blow drying caps: made of mesh, they are very stretchy. - waffle cap: made of Latex, it can be put on without pulling the hair. - volume caps or extra volume: silicone caps, their shapes leave more space for the hair provided. - molded or shelled caps: in Silicone, these are the competitors' caps. - Neoprene caps: perfect for open water swimming.
How to choose the right swimming cap size?
S, M, L, One Size… How to find your way? The choice is rather simple: the fabric and coated mesh cups have sizes (S, M, L) while the silicone cups are designed in one size because they are very stretchy. To find your way concretely, here is a short guide depending on your head size: - XS: 50-52 cm. (available in the baby department) - S: 53-56 cm. - M: 56-59 cm. - L: 59-62 cm. - One size: 53 to 62 cm.
How to put on your swimming cap?
Did you know ? Swim caps make sense!Mesh caps have a center band made to run from front to back. For silicone swimming caps, the fold line (visible flat cap) is made to go in the same direction as the previous ones. Then place your two hands together inside the cap. Spread your hands (and fingers) to create space, then put the hat on. At the front, it should reach about a finger above your eyebrows.
Why should you wear a swimming cap?
The issue is twofold. First, wearing a hat is a sign of respect for the place you are going to. By maintaining your hair, it helps protect the quality of the water and equipment, guaranteeing a certain level of hygiene in the pool or body of water. Secondly, you also wear it for yourself! The cap protects your hair from attacks by water, chlorine (or other treatment) and salt (or other pollutants).
