Advice for optimizing the performance of your insulated box.

Fill your food container with hot water for 5 minutes, then replace the water with your hot food. Close the container. The fuller the container, the better it will keep warm or cold.

Good tips...

In addition to keeping food hot, you can also keep food cool during your hikes. What's better than a spoonful of ice cream in the middle of your walk to motivate the kids (and adults!). You can also use your box like a yogurt maker: Bring the milk to a boil, cool it to about 43°C (hot but not burning) then pour the milk into the box with a spoonful of yogurt. Close the box and wait overnight (between 6 and 10 hours).

How does isothermal work?

We use a double-walled stainless steel technology with an air gap to block heat exchanges that occur through conduction or convection. To block heat exchanges through radiation, a thin layer of copper covers the outside of the inner wall. The cap is insulated with an internal expanded polystyrene insert.

Materials and regulations

Our products and materials meet current food contact standards. They do not contain Bisphenol A (BPA), in accordance with current French regulations. We chose 18/8 (304) stainless steel for the tank, recognized for its food safety, and heat- and impact-resistant polypropylene for the cap. The seal and handle are made of silicone, a material that has excellent durability.

First use

Rinse the entire product 3 times with clean water before first use.

Our global Quechua design center is based in Passy, ​​at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute Savoie. How is heat insulation tested?

We tested this food box in the laboratory, according to the EN 12546-1 standard, with an ambient temperature of 20°C, filled to its full volume. The time to go from 95°C to 50°C (temperature of food felt as being hot enough to eat) is 16 hours.

Care

The product can be put in the dishwasher (lid + body). In this case, be careful not to lose the lid seal. Leave to dry with the cap open. The seal and handle can be removed for complete washing and drying.
