How to choose your bodyboard size?
The size of the bodyboard directly influences its stability and maneuverability. It must be adapted to the size of its user. This bodyboard is thus intended for children weighing between 25 and 40Kg, and measuring between 120cm and 145cm, i.e. an age between 6 and 12 years old. A bodyboard that is too small will not float enough so you will miss waves. A bodyboard that is too big will be difficult to handle. Refer to the size selection chart on the internet or in stores.
At radbug we design products according to 4 levels of practice: discoverer, beginner, confirmed and expert.
- Discoverer: Water up to the navel, no fins, foam <50cm, propulsion by pushing the feet on the ground, wave grip to the edge. Priority to pleasure and 1st sensations (Bodyboard with handles).- Beginner: Light turns in waves <1m, propulsion with flippers. Priority to learning the sport.- Confirmed: Waves up to 1m50, more speed and beginning of tricks (360°, El Rollo...).- Expert: All types of waves, mastery of tricks, even aerial ones: ARS, 360°,...
Construction adapted to the sizes and conditions of use expected: beginner/beginner level.
If this bodyboard is used in waves or foam over 50cm and/or by children over 40Kg, it may deteriorate: breakage, bending... This bodyboard does not have a plastic underside dense, it is unsuitable for the presence of pebbles or shells on the edge, which could damage the sliding surface. In this case, prefer a bodyboard with a high density plastic sole, as on the other 100 bodyboards.
Position yourself well on the bodyboard
The front of the bodyboard is preformed to allow the correct positioning of the hands. When catching the wave, both hands are placed in front. To go left, keep your left hand in front (hand, elbow and shoulder must be aligned, arms at 2° to forearm) and move your right hand up the right rail to the middle of the board. Position your left leg in line with the left rail to keep your direction. Do the reverse to go right.
Tips to avoid chafing and to adhere well to the board.
During the gliding phase, this bodyboard is used in a lying position. It is important to wear a long-sleeved anti-UV top or a neoprene suit to avoid irritation on the stomach and arms. For good grip on the bodyboard, it is recommended to apply wax (Purchased separately in the surf department ) on the top, especially on the front of the board at the level of the hands, on the sides, and on the belly. Renew the operation at each session.
Advice for use with or without fins.
This bodyboard can be used with or without fins. Without fins, the water level must not exceed waist height. In this case, propel yourself towards the beach by leaning on the ground when the wave or the foam passes (<50cm). With fins, the water level will be above your waist. Palmer energetically towards the beach as the wave or foam passes (<50cm).
Safety rules and behavior in water - part 1.
Bodyboarding is a fantastic sport that requires you to respect certain fundamental rules for everyone's pleasure and safety. water...1- Do not overestimate your level and prefer an easier spot if the conditions exceed your abilities.2- Practice with the appropriate equipment: Leash, fins and board in good condition, appropriate neoprene suit
Safety rules and behavior in water - part 2.
"4- Respect the rules of priority on the wave: Priority to the one who is closest to the breaking.5- Go around the breaking zone when you go up towards the peak to avoid cutting the trajectory of another rider.6- Use fins if the water level exceeds the height of your hips.7- If you do not use fins, it is recommended to practice in the safe bathing area, ask the lifeguards present on site.8 - Practice with several people.
Do not leave exposed in the heat
When not in use, take care not to expose your bodyboard to the sun or to temperatures >30°C. Therefore, protect your bodyboard in a cover, under a parasol, in the shade, under a light towel , so that it does not rise in temperature. In particular, avoid leaving it in a car in direct sunlight. The consequence in the event of exposure to excessive heat can be blisters or bubbles which form on the board, or even deformation of the board.
