A boardshort is an English term used to refer to a swimsuit in the surfing world, particularly surfing. Practical and comfortable, they are suitable for both men and women. These swimsuits were originally developed in the 50s for surfing. In recent years, they have become a popular form of swim shorts. The name "boardshort" comes from their use in water sports that use a board, such as surfing.

Size guide available on the product page. Boardshorts in the 100 range are available from S to XXL. Those in the 500 and 900 ranges are available in sizes 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, and 48. Your body shape may influence your size choice. We always recommend trying on your swimsuit before purchasing. Tighten your swimsuit and gradually pull it down. If it falls easily, it's probably too big, and you may have some surprises once you're in the water in the waves!
ELASTIC WAISTBAND Promotes the adaptability of the boardshorts according to different body shapes. SEMI-ELASTIC WAISTBAND Ensures good support while allowing good adaptability for everyone. FLAT WAISTBAND Ensures good support of the boardshorts, during ducks and falls (wipeouts) in the waves. BODY-FORMING ADAPTABILITY WAISTBAND Combines the advantages of the elastic waistband (adaptability to different body shapes) and the flat waistband (support in the waves).
When surfing, whether it's because of a duck or a "wipe out" it's not easy to have to reposition your men's boardshorts because they have slipped down to mid-buttocks... The choice of belt then becomes essential. Choose an elastic or semi-elastic belt with a drawstring or a flat belt for better support.
When surfing, bodyboarding, and bodysurfing, the legs are put under a lot of strain, so men's swimwear should not restrict bending or finning. A two-way or four-way component contributes to this freedom of movement. The 500 boardshort is made of a material offering four-way stretch.
This is probably the most important criterion. It is common for friction from boardshorts or their seams to cause irritation. Our boardshorts are designed, both in terms of the shapes offered and the assembly methods, to minimize irritation during practice. In addition, the 500 boardshorts benefit from a central band that moves the seams away from the usual friction zones, which has the effect of significantly limiting the appearance of irritation.
It is quite annoying to feel the sand sticking to your boardshorts because they are still soaked with water. For this, choose a "Stretch" component that evacuates water more quickly from the swim shorts.
The choice of length of your boardshorts will depend mainly on your tastes. However, be aware that the shorter your swim shorts are, the greater the freedom of movement. The 19-inch length corresponds to a length of 48 cm on the median size 42.
The 500 boardshorts are equipped with a flat waistband which will help hold the wave when ducking under the wave and when falling. In addition, the flat waistband will provide greater comfort when rowing, lying on the surfboard.

In hot summer weather, with the cool water, surfers tend to extend their surfing sessions without adapting their equipment. The risk of sunburn is therefore multiplied. Did you know? 10 to 15% of UV rays are reflected on the water, while 40 to 95% penetrate 25 cm underwater. My partner didn't like it at all, I only used it once. The Velcro closure and string weren't practical at all.
