On September 3rd, I ordered these sneakers in a size 36 (I wear a 35,5), which were supposed to run small, but I received a pair so tiny they looked like a 34.
On September 8th, I initiated a return request for exchange.
On September 16th, with no news, I contacted customer service. I was told that the sneakers had arrived, but that my return had still not been registered. After this call, the return was finally registered. But to my surprise, my exchange was canceled and refunded without explanation. Total incomprehension.
On September 17, I called again to clarify the situation. The advisor explained to me, not without difficulty, that my previous order had been canceled because the requested model was not available in the correct warehouse. I did not understand this situation and had to reorder.
On September 20th, a nasty surprise: the third pair ordered was stained, with a visible stain on the white fabric. I called and had to explain the whole story from the beginning: the size too small, the difficult return, the order canceled and then refunded, and finally my new order.
Photo sent. I clarified that I didn't want to return these sneakers again. I asked what solutions would be possible. It would have been unthinkable to have to return the product again or drop off the sneakers in store 20 km away to place a new order. The advisor assured me that she would call me back at the beginning of the following week to offer me a solution.
On September 25th, without any response, I called customer service again. The only offer was: "free shipping on your next order." Offering only this, when shipping was already free at the collection point, is completely unacceptable.
This paltry response doesn't take into account the time and energy already invested. If I had had to return the pair, the process would have been even longer and more painful.
In total, I contacted customer service 4 times for various issues with returns/exchanges, with unfulfilled promises of goodwill.
I preferred to call because the returns/exchanges on the website are not intuitive.

A huge waste of time and energy, no real commercial gesture, and still no decent pair at home.
I have a disability and don't get around easily. Living far from a store makes ordering online essential, especially if you wear small shoes (36 or even 35). However, in my store in Chambray-lès-Tours, size 36 is almost impossible to find. Even to try on a pair, you have to order.
Imagine having to buy 5 or 6 pairs of shoes to find the right fit: a financially impossible solution for most people, and particularly restrictive for me.
With this level of service and this policy, Decathlon risks losing many customers.
