GUIDE TO SIZES MEN

To take your measurements:

  • Head:  Wrap a measuring tape around your head, above the eyebrows. Make sure it's parallel to the ground when your head is straight.
  • Chest:  Wrap a measuring tape around your back and come forward as far as your chest goes. Make sure it is straight and parallel to the ground.
    Raise your head, tighten the tape and breathe normally.
  • Size:  Wrap a tape measure around the narrowest part of your waist, above your belly button.
    Raise your head, tighten the tape and breathe normally.
  • Main:  Hold a tape measure at the bend of your thumb. Wrap around your palm.
  • Feet: hold on stand against a wall, heels touching the wall. Place an object (eg a book...) against your longest toe.
    Measure the length between the wall and the object.

      The story of its development….

      Entirely designed and validated in collaboration over a year with 14 demanding users, a clever mix of hiking customers and trekking ambassadors. From writing the specifications to prototype validation tests, including the choice of color. Thank you Serge, Evelyne, Olivier, Thomas, Perrine, and all the others!

      How did we achieve such longevity?

      Mainly by choosing a rubber formulation that is highly resistant to abrasion and deformation. Our laboratory tests demonstrate wear that is 3 times less than the previous model (average abrasion at room temperature and when hot). To maximize longevity, we have also opted for a thick stud. This means that the toe cap is replaced less frequently.

      Our other technical choices…

      In addition to its resistance, the rubber material of this toe cap has a higher coefficient of adhesion on hard ground (road, stone, tree). We have also specifically designed V-shaped studs, derived from our expertise in shoe soles, to allow good grip on soft ground (earth, mud).

      To install this tip on Quechua and Forclaz poles

      Insert it forcefully, so the soft material deforms to fit the tip. It is important to tap the ground 2 to 3 times firmly to insert it fully. The grip on the pole tip has been determined so that the tip does not easily get lost while walking. This is maximum on a clean tip but decreases in the presence of dust or humidity. To remove it, turn it at the same time as you pull on it. It will be much easier to remove.
