YOU ARE A BEGINNER SURFER

You're just starting out or you only surf a few times a year, during your vacation or a surf trip. You stay where you can touch the bottom, in tiny waves or broken waves. You practice for the pleasure of being in the water and for the sensations it gives you. During your sessions, you often fall, but you fall in less powerful waves. We have designed a wide range of swimsuits for you, adapted to your occasional practice and your body shape.

MORPHOLOGY

The MINI AMBRE one-piece dress was designed for the little surfer discovering the waves. Its open-back straps free up the back for a comfortable feel. The front was also designed to prevent as much friction as possible against the board and wax.

GIRL'S SWIMWEAR SUIT

At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers based on their growth. That's why we associate a height with the sizing, namely the child's size, because age alone isn't enough. Indeed, two 10-year-old girls can have completely different heights, measurements, weights, and body shapes. We also recommend fitting in a fitting room if possible.

Here is the link between age and height visible on the labels of our swimsuits: 7/8 years: 125 to 132 cm 8/9 years: 133 to 142 cm 10/11 years: 143 to 150 cm 12/13 years: 151 to 160 cm 14/15 years: 161 to 169 cm

DRY CUTTING AND WET CUTTING

To ensure a perfect fit in the water, we are required to adjust our models while dry, because once in the water, the swimsuits relax. We therefore advise you to choose the right size. The swimsuit must fit snugly on your body in the fitting room; you must feel supported. The elastane contained in certain components used in the design of our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.

HOLDING UP IN THE WAVE: THE TEST

We design swimsuits whose promise is to hold up in the waves. To evaluate them, we call on a panel of surfers with different morphologies who will follow a test protocol in the pool, in our design offices in Hendaye. This protocol aims to reproduce the sensations experienced by the surfer when she is stirred by a wave. If this test is conclusive, we go surfing at sea, testing our swimsuits in real conditions.
