We recommend the total: helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist protectors. Because ultimately the part of the body on which we fall... it's a bit random.
If for more experienced riders we are talking about ABEC 1 to 7 bearings, here, to allow progressive sliding and ensure safety, the bearings are suitable for the use of beginner children. Concretely, one could say that the skates roll less quickly. As for the wheels, their size is 63 mm.
Do you see the little tab on the front of the liner? Just scratch it on the desired number. 1 for the smallest size, 2 for the intermediate size and 3 for the largest. The space at the front of the foot is then freed up and you gain 2 sizes. Smart, right?
The hardware kit, called the stability kit, can be adapted to all sizes of PLAY3 and PLAY5 skates. This stability kit allows you to start with a tricycle configuration: a good way to increase stability during the first outings and, for your child, to quickly gain confidence. The kit is pre-installed on PLAY3 skates size 26/28.
And yes 8 years, we are very proud! Especially since thanks to your opinions, we regularly improve these skates. For example, you gave us the idea of a stability kit: a small screw on which we align 2 wheels, like a tricycle, at the back of the skate. It's very simple and it really facilitates the first steps. More recently, we have improved the clamp clips. In a word: thank you!
Unlike plastic, which slips but does not brake, the rubber on the 63mm wheels has good grip: it allows your child to skate without slipping when pushing, and to brake effectively. In addition, rubber wears out less quickly than plastic. Our Oxelo teams are committed to safety - whatever the technical level of the child. We have therefore chosen to equip all children's skates with rubber wheels and brakes rather than PVC.
You can find wheels of different sizes (even light ones), brakes or even compatible bolts on our website and in your Decathlon workshop departments. Everything is assembled very easily. Depending on where they're positioned on the skate, some wheels will wear out faster than others. Don't hesitate to swap their positions regularly. It's definitely time to change them when the wear reaches the first of the seven visible circles on the inside of the wheel.
All our skates are laboratory tested. These tests make it possible to validate the European standards but also the wear tests. They are supplemented by field tests, some measured, others relying on the perception of the testers. The result: a product tested, proven... and approved. I bought these rollers for my 8 year old son in December, he has used them regularly since then (non-intensive use, just occasional). The roller skates are solid and easy to put on, the color is nice, the price is right, it allows you to equip yourself inexpensively and for a variety of activities. For sports and intensive practice, for passionate children, it is worth taking a model from the range above.
